Fotona LightWalker

Our Fotona LightWalker Laser — No drill, no anesthesia.

Our office uses the Fotona LightWalker, one of the most advanced dental lasers available. It operates on two wavelengths, which means it can treat both hard tissue (like teeth and bone) and soft tissue (like gums) with a single instrument.

The LightWalker makes it possible to perform minor gum surgery, treat cavities, desensitize sensitive teeth, and even assist with root canal treatments — often without a drill, and frequently without the need for local anesthesia.

Patients consistently tell us that laser treatments are more comfortable than they expected. Healing is typically faster because the laser seals as it works, reducing bleeding and swelling. It's one of the investments we're most proud of making for our patients.

Laser-assisted hygiene · Biolase

Hygiene Lasers: Gentler perio & prophy visits.

Alongside the Fotona LightWalker we use in the operatories, our two hygienists, Janet and Tatyana, work with a dedicated Biolase hygiene laser. The only hygiene-only laser FDA-cleared for laser bacterial reduction. The two lasers are different instruments for different jobs: the Fotona handles hard- and soft-tissue dentistry; the Biolase is purpose-built for the hygiene chair.

During routine cleanings, a low-power pass with the Biolase through the sulcus reduces the bacterial load below the gumline. Patients with mild bleeding, tenderness, or a history of gum issues notice the difference quickly, and the FDA clearance for laser bacterial reduction is unique to this device.

For periodontal patients, laser-assisted therapy is an alternative to traditional gum surgery in many cases. The laser selectively targets infected pocket tissue and bacteria while leaving healthy tissue intact, helping pockets shrink and gums reattach without scalpels or sutures. It works alongside scaling and root planing, not in place of it, and most patients return to a normal day immediately afterward.
