Inlays & Onlays: The Conservative Alternative to a Crown

When a tooth has too much damage for a simple filling but doesn't need a full crown, an inlay or onlay is often the ideal solution. These are custom-milled ceramic restorations that fit precisely into or onto the damaged part of the tooth, like a perfectly shaped puzzle piece.

An inlay fills the area between the cusps of the tooth. An onlay covers one or more cusps. Both preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is always our first priority.

Because we mill inlays and onlays in-house with our CAD/CAM system, we can often complete yours in a single visit. The ceramic material is strong, durable, and matched to the colour of your natural tooth, so the restoration is invisible and built to last.
